Building Stronger Communities - One Project at a Time
Our ultimate goal is to stop the spread of HIV in our community through prevention, testing, early diagnosis and successful treatment – and we understand that can only occur through multiple community interventions. Peer navigation quickly establishes a foundation of trust and respect, and is a proven grassroots intervention in many adverse environments. While we have yet to receive funding for this program, we believe we can successfully implement this outreach method in our community, increase the number of women in long term treatment and reduce the rate of new infection. A peer navigation program would produce a culture shift: women working together and for themselves to navigate services and reduce transmission rates.
