Building Stronger Communities - One Project at a Time
As the XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012) prepares to return to the United States for the first time in 20 years, the Community Education Group and the Urban Coalition for HIV/AIDS Prevention Services are planning a series of community mobilizing events in 15 U.S. cities in the lead up to AIDS 2012. The events will heighten public awareness of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, AIDS 2012 and future changes in health service delivery in America.
Road to AIDS 2012 is an Affiliated Independent Event of AIDS 2012. The local events will take the form a listening session/ town hall meeting and will include people living with HIV/AIDS, all levels of government, the advocacy community, community-based organizations, the faith-based community, healthcare providers, business partners, media and others. All discussions will include Spanish language translation and American Sign Language Interpretation.
The International AIDS Conference is the largest gathering of professionals working in the field of HIV, including people living with HIV and other leaders in the HIV response. The XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012) will be held July 22-27, 2011, in Washington, DC.
