
This week’s #PeopleWorthKnowing video interview features Preston Nguyen Tang, Health Program Specialist at the Nevada HIV Prevention Program in the state Division of Public and Behavioral Health.
Preston, known as a “champion of the people,” has worked in the HIV field since 2011.
Preston received his Bachelor’s of Social Work from San Diego State University where he began his career working with the men who have sex with men (MSM) population.
Preston has since expanded his work to include all at-risk populations instituting high impact prevention interventions.
In 2019, Preston obtained his Master’s in Public Health from the University of Nevada, Reno. Currently, Preston serves as the HIV Prevention Coordinator for the Office of HIV with the State of Nevada.
He is also a founding member of the Southern Nevada Asian Pacific Islander Queer Society (SNAPIQS) where he serves as the Public Relations Chairs.
And lastly, he is also a group fitness instructor and coach for World of Dance U-Jam Fitness.
